For many years, I kept my online life and my “real” life separate. I wrote under a pseudonym. I was careful about disclosing my location or any specifics about my life or my family online. I was careful about disclosing my blog and blog identity offline. Initially, I needed that freedom – that protected space to write through life. More and more now, though, I’m finding that kind of split hard to enforce – and not something I need anymore.
At the same time, who I am and what I’m doing have changed. The process of career change – of LIFE change – has made me long for another space to write through life, to think through and write out and share and discuss the intertwining pieces of life. What will I be writing about? Parenting. Breastfeeding. Crafting. Twins. Choosing an elementary school. Managing a non-profit. Building a business. Educational philosophy.
Starting a new blog seems like an adventure in navelgazing, and that may well turn out to be what it is. Or it may be a grand adventure, a journey, a discussion.
I can’t wait to find out!
